Top-to-bottom formatting (aka the scoresheet format) is NOT a good idea for large numbers of variations. The problem with the PGN viewers I’ve found is they all seem to record notation lines and comments left to right like in a book and not top to bottom which makes much more sense and is less confusing when you have multiple sub variations MatPlus.Well the point is I want the computer to be able to show the moves when I click on each line. If you could explain what way is satisfying for you (= formulate the task), someone can probably try to help. Since it is impossible, obviously, to convert PGN to RTF in a satisfying way, I'll use PDF995 and 'Fritz' (not Jindrich) to convert the file to PDF. This convertor will be applyed automatically. This doesn't work since it thinks Word isn't installed but I have Office 2000 installed. On site exist a macro that transforms pgn to rtf (make posibility to open pgn files with Microsoft Word). * It gives me only the text in the PGN file, no diagram, no formatting You can download this from here for free: It can open Pgn files, and you can save it to RTF in 'Games' menu and Copy as. * Chess Genius 6.5 lets me extract positions one by one into different files and has a strange sense of line break. * ChessAssistant 7 light gives me a table with the author's name and - even worse - doesn't copy the source ('event' field) * Fritz 10 doesn't give the initial position (strangely enough, it let me access the option for printing but not for RTF).
